Fermenters

It probably goes here, unless it goes somewhere else.

Fermenters

Ok, I'm tired of the siphon world. Anyone using a primary fermenter with a spigot; like a bottling bucket? It seems to me that if you keep the spigot starsan'd down that it would eliminate the risk of wine thiefs and siphons. Just starsan 4 feet of tube and drop it in the keg, my current fermenter box has the fermenters 3 feet off the floor so it would be ideal. I'm about 10 minutes from buying the one below for $39.99.

Take a look at the rotating racking arm on the Sabco fermentors. If you could retrofit a Better Bottle with one of those it would be tres cool.

Ok, I'm going to have to go to casino and win enough $$ to buy that. Wicked cool.

I don't save yeast from brews because the chance of contamination goes up with each passage, but I am open to racking to waste to clear the yeast and then transferring the rest to a keg. That said I do have a siphoning procedure that is bullet proof. Next time we get together I'll show it to you.
